Tales of Spring Pools By Robert Frost (1874 - 1963)

Judy Underwood, Chasing Rainbow

Thursday Flash Fiction Week 28: Innocence and Dreams

Those pools that, though in forests, still reflect
The total sky almost without defect,
And like the flowers beside them, chill and shiver,
Will the flowers beside them soon be gone,
And yet not out by any stream or river,
But up by roots to bring dark foliage on,
The trees that have it in their pent-up buds
to darken nature and be summer woods-
Let them think twice before they use their powers
to blot out and drink up and sweep away,
these flowery waters and these watery flowers
from snow that's melted only yesterday.

More Than Words (Poetry and Short Fiction)

Eyeballs pop
words dine like a wish,
shall I make it concrete
to feel the bones?
or push it out
to set it free?
Heartbeats sound on tom-tom rhymes,
branches of a bookstore,
Echo through the affordable hall,
Chicago, Austin, Princeton, Peking,
Tianjin, Wuhan, Xiangtan, or Washington D. C.,
where did words go?
I sense the aromas
of knowledge, so and so!

I have this award from poetry rally week 73, here, I take it with gratitude, and  wish to nominate JJ Roa Rodriguez
for week 74 perfect poet...

At The Piano (Humor and Poetry)

 Google.com

The fast pitch:
the eye hears,
The ear catches what's heard,
The mind is an instrument.
#
Composing everything into the letter grade A,
It's touching to know
how everyone survives the hardships,
Looking at the brightest Northern star,
She becomes a star,
a flare tailgating
among the crowded sky.

To The Sweet Tomato Woman Petit Jean (Short Story Slam Week 26)

Above the towering Arkansas mountain,
Behind the promising nature garden,
Corn trees are shooting high,
tomatoes hang green, tender and shy.
#
Petit Jean has the version wider than the ocean,
and deeper than the sea,
She wins love and admiration
through her nerve to see what she can see.
#
She illustrates miracles in human relation,
as a figure who is young, female, and dependable,
She disguises herself as trail blazing man,
and accompanying his lover to the mountain, becoming visible!
